Finding Balance

As we look forward to another election season I hunger for balance.

We also need to find a balance in our personal lives. I have recently talked to a couple of friends who have found their lives too busy; filled with activities of their own choosing, leaving them exhausted without time to pursue their own individual interests or to even just meditate for a while during the day to release tension.

I too suffer this sickness. I waste much of my time watching television shows, and checking my email, and Facebook messages. As much as I would like to appear like I have implemented the answers into my life; I haven't. Perhaps this can be an ethnography that will help me bring my life into control while helping others. I know what I need to do...

I, like many others, need to implement it.

Simplicity should be a simple subject to talk about. It should be something easy to achieve in our lives, but it's not. Our lives are so entangled that it may take a lot of time to untie the knots and snarls that we have made of our lives.

In my own life, I too have more commitments than I should really have. When you have a house to maintain, errands to run, bills to pay, a part-time job, a club, church, and college classes, how much time does that leave you for family, meditation, and pleasurable activities that help relieve stress?

Actually there is probably more time available than one would think. But do we put it to use for our own benefit?
